DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nCOORDINA-INNOV  |  Horizon Europe INFRA-DEV-05  |
Area 3\nThematic Workshop 1  | Landscape Analysis of the Future Co-Innov
 ation Ecosystem\n8-9-10 September 2026 Grenoble - France\n\n\n\n\n \nThre
e HORIZON-INFRA-2025-01-DEV-05 projects will reshape the Research Infrastr
ucture landscape in the European Commission Framework Programme 10.\n\nAbo
 ut COORDINA-INNOV — Area 3 \nEurope's large-scale Research Infrastructu
res (RIs) are global leaders in frontier science — from particle acceler
ators and photon sources to neutron facilities and life science platforms.
They constantly push the boundaries of technology in areas such as superc
 onducting magnets\, advanced detectors\, precision optics\, and AI-driven
control systems.\nThe structural problem: technology development currently
happens in short-term\, fragmented EU projects (~€10 M over 3–4 years
). These timescales are too short to build sustained industrial capacity\,
maintain critical know-how\, or develop the supply-chain sovereignty whic
h Europe urgently needs.\nCOORDINA-INNOV aims to enhance the strategic coo
rdination and innovation ecosystem of European Research Infrastructures (R
Is)\, Technology Infrastructures (TIs)\, Research and Technological Organi
sations (RTOs)\, and Industry through a structured approach to joint techn
ology development\, improving both intra- and inter-community collaboratio
n\, and strengthening engagement with industry. \nBy anchoring in the fou
 r pilot communities (LEAPS\, AIDAinnova\, TIARA\, EMBL)\, and involving ne
utron facilities (ILL\, ESS) and ESFRI domains\, COORDINA-INNOV will work
on how to turn Europe’s scientific leadership into industrial competitiv
eness by unifying efforts from both RIs and industry.\nCOORDINA-INNOV resp
onds by building a sustainable European Co-Innovation Ecosystem. The 11-pa
 rtner consortium (DESY\, CERN\, EMBL\, ESS\, ILL\, INFN\, CEA\, CIEMAT\, N
IKHEF\, PSI\, University of Oxford) will:\n\nMap the European RI technolog
y landscape and identify key actors across communities and ESFRI domains\n
Define shared Technology Domains — strategic technology areas where join
t multi-year development with industry creates the most value\nDesign gove
rnance and coordination mechanisms including a Governing Board\, Scientifi
 c & Technology Committee\, and Industry Board\nExplore sustainable long-te
rm funding models (bloc funding\, hybrid EU–national–private schemes\,
SME innovation windows)\nPropose a Co-Innovation Ecosystem for structured
RI–industry partnerships.\n\n \n\n\n\n\nWhy your presence and input in
Grenoble matters:  \nThe Thematic Workshop 1 and the associated question
naire are the first opportunity to give critical input on the design of a
new RI-industry ecosystem and subsequent phases of the two-year COORDINA-I
 NNOV project. \n\n\n\n\n \n\nhttps://workshops.ill.fr/event/581/
