Travelling to Grenoble

Grenoble can be easily accessed by plane, train and car.

By plane, Grenoble is connected through shuttle services to the Lyon airport 'St Exupery' as well as the Geneva airport.  If possible, we recommend to fly to Lyon St Exupery as shuttle services are more frequent, every 30 to 60 min., and transit takes appreciably less time ca. 60 min.

'St Exupery' airport shuttles are run by Blablacar and Flixbus. They operate alternatingly, please check both here:

There are two stops in Grenoble: i) 'Pont d'Oxford' or 'Oxford' and  ii) central bus station (gare routier). The Institut Laue Langevin is in walking distance from the stop 'Pont d'Oxford'. The shuttle busses stop on demand.

From central bus station (gare routier), the ILL can be reached from by tram. Line B (green label) direction 'Oxford' stops at the terminal tram stop close to the institute. Tram and bus tickets can be purchased from vending machines at the tram platform.
