Description
While working on the re-installation of the NG7 30m SANS, the instrument will undergo a small, yet meaningful evolution. First, the removal of the sample vessel and moving the detector vessel north by 10 inches expands the available sample area for larger sample environments. This is particularly needed to be able to place the Titan magnet and a He3 analyzer downstream for full polarization analysis. Second, moving the vessel east by 6 inches centers the beam in the vessel. This is in preparation for a possible future adoption of spaced detector tubes (curtain) detector scheme. The scheme allows for extended angular range of scattering angles to be collected simultaneously, similar to what can be done with the three detector carriages on vSANS.
