Annecy is an alpine town located in the south-east of France. This is where Lake Annecy flows into the Thiou. It is famous for its old town with its cobbled streets, winding canals and pastel-coloured houses. Overlooking the city, the medieval castle of Annecy, former residence of the Counts of Geneva, houses a museum offering regional objects, such as alpine furniture or religious works, as well as an exhibition on natural history.
